Our Story
A Fine Diner in Downtown Rapid City Tally’s Silver Spoon brings together classic diner comfort, creative modern American cuisine, and the hospitality of a neighborhood gathering place. Locally owned in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota, we welcome familiar faces and Black Hills visitors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. ​ Our story began in the 1930s, when Tally and Betty Winter opened the Bright Spot Cafe. Downtown business owners gathered over coffee and came to know the restaurant simply as Tally’s. The name stuck. The Winters later passed the restaurant to their sons, who carried on its tradition of familiar food and a warm welcome.
